    Make Arctic Owl Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"I can't wait to make a project with you!"

Step 1: Download and Print the Template

    May need grown-up help
Download and print the free owl craft printable onto heavy cardstock. If you don’t have cardstock, you can print on regular paper and use it to cut the pieces out of a paper plate. You will have to draw the details of the owl’s face. Choose from the black and white or colored version of the template. The template includes a pom pom maker template you'll need in the next step.

    Step 2: Start the Pompom

    1. Fold a paper plate (or use cardboard) in half and trim off the sides until you have a rectangle about 5 inches across. Use the rectangle in the template to guide you. 2. Cut a small slit in the middle. Now you have a pompom maker template. 3. Wrap the white yarn around and around your pompom maker until it is nice and fluffy. 4. Cut a piece of yarn about 12 inches long. Then lace it through the slit and tie it around the bundle of yarn. Pull it as tight as you can without breaking anything. 5. Tie a double knot.

Step 3: Finish Off the Pompom

    1. Slide the wrapped yarn off of the pompom template. 2. Then trim it into a round fluffy pompom as pictured.

Step 4: Color Your Snowy Owl

Before cutting out the pieces for your owl, use crayons to color details like the owl’s beak, feet, face, and wings. You can use your favorite colors!

Step 5: Cut Out Your Owl

Now that you’ve added some details, cut out the owl body and wings. Cut the slits in the sides of the owl printable.

    Step 6: Finish Your Owl

    1. Slide the long strings of the pompom into the slits on the side of the owl. 2. Then tie the string and trim away any extra. 3. Use your glue stick to attach the owl’s wings, being careful not to glue on top of the slits so that you can take the pompom on and off if you like. Now you have a soft and fluffy owl!
