    Make Construction Worker Vest

    Your creative buddy says:
"I can't wait to make a project with you!"

Step 1: Cut off the sleeves

    SHARP! Grown-up required
Lay an old t-shirt flat on a table. Using a sharp scissors, carefully cut from the armit to the shoulder sleeve, removing both sleeves from the t-shirt. Ask an adult for help if you aren't comfortable with large, sharp scissors. Tip: Save the sleeves! Small scrap fabric might be perfect for future projects!

Step 2: Make it open like a real vest

    SHARP! Grown-up required
Cut (or ask your helper to cut) straight down the middle of the front! Now your shirt opens up just like the vests real construction workers wear. Be careful to only cut the frot layer of your fabric!

Step 3: Duct Tape the horizontal stripes

Here's where YOU take charge! Stick strips of duct tape going sideways across your vest. Space them about as far apart as your hand is wide. Press them down super tight - these stripes help construction workers stay safe and visible!

    Step 4: Add vertical stripes

Now add two strips going up and down on the front - one on each side. You're making the same pattern real construction workers wear! Then, add two more stripes on the back. These are important to a construction worker's visibility!
