    Make Crescent Moon and Bat Mobile

    Your creative buddy says:
    "Are you as excited to make this as I am?"

    Step 1: Make your moon shape and paint it yellow.

    May need grown-up help
    First, cut your paper plate into a crescent moon shape. Put some newspaper down to keep your table clean. If you don't have a paintbrush, you can make one! Pinch the medium pompom with the clothespin to make a paintbrush. Squeeze some yellow paint onto the newspaper. Paint one side of your moon yellow. Let it dry. Then, paint the other side yellow and let it dry too.

    Step 2: Make the bat's body.

    Cut a square from your black construction paper. Fold the paper like an accordion, back and forth. Then, snip the ends of the folded paper to make them pointy. Use the hole punch to make a hole in the middle of the folded paper. Cut a piece of white yarn about 8 inches long. Thread the yarn through the hole. Tie a black pony bead on each end of the yarn to keep it from slipping out.

    Step 3: Give your bat a face.

    Glue one medium black pompom onto each side of your accordion paper. This will be your bat's body. Use Elmer's glue to stick two mini googly eyes onto each black pompom. Now your bat has eyes! Let the glue dry completely before you move to the next step. This might take a long time, so be patient!

    Step 4: Hang your moon and bat mobile.

    Use the hole punch to make two holes in your crescent moon. Make one hole at the very top in the middle, and another hole in the middle of the moon where your bat will hang. Cut a piece of white yarn about 6 to 8 inches long. Thread this yarn through the top hole of the moon to make a hanger. Tie the bat's yarn (from Step 2) through the second hole in the moon. Trim any extra yarn. Now you have a moon and bat mobile!
