About This Project

A 30–45 minutes craft for ages 3–7, using supplies you likely already have — Pom Poms, Scissors, and Pencils.

GlueStick supports kids from setup to cleanup. After they choose a project, we guide them through gathering the supplies, making it, and cleaning up when they're done. We'll even help them share it safely with trusted family and friends.

Ad-free and kid-safe library — designed by a mom who wants kids to explore and create independently.

    Make Easter Chick Kids Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"Let's stick together and make this one!"

    Step 1: Glue the frame

Form the 3 popsicle sticks into a triangle. Use white glue to glue the corners together. Let the glue dry. It is best to let the glue dry overnight. We have lots of fun projects in GlueStick that use this same popsicle stick triangle. You may want to make several and then search for Popsicle Stick Crafts for more ideas while you wait for them to dry.

    Step 2: Paint the frame

    May need grown-up help
Lay out your newspaper to protect your work surface. Place the triangle frame on the newspaper. Pinch the pompom with the clothespin to make a “paint brush”, or just use a regular paint brush. Squeeze a little yellow paint onto the newspaper or a small plate. Paint the frame and let it dry.

Step 3: Cut and glue paper to the frame

Place the triangle frame on top of the yellow construction paper and trace around the outside. Draw a second triangle inside the one you have traced, about 1/4 inch inside the first. Cut out the paper triangle. Use the glue stick to glue it to the back of the frame.

    Step 4: Add the fluff

Glue the pieces of yellow tissue paper squares all over the triangle. You can leave little edges unglued and some that go over the edges. Lift the edges of the tissue paper to make the chick even “flufflier”.

    Step 5: Add the details

Cut 2 large teardrop shapes from the scraps of yellow construction paper for the chick’s wings. Then cut a beak, feet, and a bow tie from the other scraps. Glue all of the details in place, including the googly eyes.
