    Make Easy Paper Bee Craft

    Your creative buddy says:

    Step 1: Cut out your bee's body.

    May need grown-up help
    First, fold a piece of black construction paper in half. Print the bee craft template and carefully cut out the shape. Place the folded paper with the fold lined up with the top of the bee template. Now, cut out your paper bee shape. If you don't have a printer, draw a big oval on your paper and add a triangle for the stinger.

    Step 2: Make yellow stripes for your bee.

    Take your yellow construction paper. Cut about six strips of paper, each about one inch wide. Don't worry about how long they are right now.

    Step 3: Glue the yellow stripes onto your bee.

    On one side of your black bee body, use your glue stick to attach three yellow paper strips. Make sure to space them out evenly to look like bee stripes. Then, turn your bee over and glue three more yellow strips in the same spots on the other side.

    Step 4: Trim the stripes and make a slot for wings.

    Carefully trim off any extra yellow paper that hangs over the edges of your bee. Next, use the single hole punch to make a hole under the fold on your bee. Use this hole as a starting point to cut a small slit, about one inch long. This slit will be in the middle of your bee's back, where the wings will go.

    Step 5: Fold newspaper to make wings.

    Get a piece of newspaper. Try to find a part with mostly black and white words, not too many pictures. Cut a section that is about one page wide and about three-quarters of the paper's height. Now, accordion fold the newspaper, like you're making a fan. Fold it in half and then round the ends with your scissors. You can trim the wings more later if you want them shorter.

    Step 6: Add wings and an eye to your bee.

    Gently slide your folded newspaper wings through the slit you made in your bee's back. Now your bee has wings! For the finishing touch, push the black metal brad through the paper to make your bee's eye. Separate the brad's prongs on the back to keep it in place.

    Clean up

    Put things away so your space is tidy for next time.
