About This Project

A 5–10 minutes craft for ages 3–7, using supplies you likely already have — Food Coloring, Baking Sheet, and Water.

GlueStick supports kids from setup to cleanup. After they choose a project, we guide them through gathering the supplies, making it, and cleaning up when they're done. We'll even help them share it safely with trusted family and friends.

Ad-free and kid-safe library — designed by a mom who wants kids to explore and create independently.

Make Eat Like a Blue Whale Activity

    Your creative buddy says:
"Let's stick together and make this one!"

    Step 1: Cut the 'Krill'

Cut the red string into many small pieces. Imagine these tiny pieces are 'krill', which are little animals that blue whales love to eat.

    Step 2: Prepare the Ocean

Fill a shallow dish with water. If you want, you can add a drop of blue food coloring to the water to make it look like the ocean.

    Step 3: Add the Krill

Put all the small red string pieces into the water in the dish.

Step 4: Eat Like a Whale

Now, use the comb to scoop and strain the 'krill' (red string pieces) from the water. Pretend the comb is the blue whale's baleen, which helps it catch its food while letting the water out!
