Fox Paper Plate Craft Mobile

Create a fun fox mobile using a paper plate and construction paper. This craft is easy to make and will bring a smile to your face when you hang it up. You can even make a Dr. Seuss Fox in Socks version by replacing the paws with blue socks, or an Arctic Fox by using white paper and leaving out the orange paint.

    Make Fox Paper Plate Craft Mobile

    Your creative buddy says:
    "Let's stick together and make this one!"

    Step 1: Paint the paper plate orange.

    May need grown-up help
    First, lay newspaper on your work surface to keep it clean. Place the paper plate on the newspaper. Squeeze a little bit of orange paint onto the plate. If you don't have a paintbrush, you can make one! Just pinch a pompom with a clothespin to make a paintbrush. Paint one side of the paper plate orange and let it dry. Once it is dry, paint the other side. The great thing about a pompom brushi is that you can tap the pompom to make it look like fur!

    Step 2: Cut out fox parts using the template.

    May need grown-up help
    Ask an adult for help printing the fox craft template. Carefully cut out all the parts for your fox. You will need two identical heads, four paws, and a tail from orange paper. Cut the sides of the face and the tip of the tail from white paper. Cut the nose from black paper.

    Step 3: Make the fox's face.

    Glue the googly eyes onto the fox's face. Also, glue the white sides of the fox's face and the black nose in place. Use your markers to add any other fun details you want to the fox's face.

    Step 4: Decorate the paws and tail.

    Now, use your markers to add some details to the fox's paws and tail. Glue the white tip onto the fox's tail.

    Step 5: Cut a spiral from the painted paper plate.

    Once the orange paint is completely dry, cut a spiral shape into the paper plate. Fold the very center of the spiral up. This is where you will attach the fox's head later. Make sure to round off any sharp edges.

    Step 6: Attach the fox's head to the spiral.

    Take the two identical fox heads you cut out. Place the center of the spiral between them, like a sandwich, and glue them together with your glue stick.

    Step 7: Add the tail and paws.

    Next, use your glue stick to attach the fox's tail. Then, glue the paws in place. To make sure they are in the right spot, hold the fox craft by the top and let the mobile hang down while you glue the paws.

    Step 8: Add a yarn hanger to your fox mobile.

    To finish your fox craft, punch a hole in the very top of the fox's head. Cut a piece of white yarn long enough to make a hanging loo. Thread the yarn through the hole and tie it to make a loop. Now you have a hanger for your easy fox craft!
