Make Glitter Clay Christmas Tree Ornament

Messy Mode

Make the clay

Mix cornstarch, baking soda, and cold water together in a pan. Stir over medium heat until the mixture becomes thick and hard to stir. Ask an adult for help with this step. Remove the clay from the pan and let it cool.

Cut out the tree

Place a piece of wax paper on the table. Roll out the clay with a rolling pin. Use the Christmas tree cookie cutter to cut out a tree shape.

Decorate the tree

Gently press a fork into the clay to make a design on the Christmas tree. Use a straw to poke a hole at the top of the tree.

Dry the tree

Set the tree out to dry completely. This will take several hours.

Paint the tree

Once the tree is dry, paint it green.

Add glitter

Put some Mod Podge in a bowl and mix in gold glitter. Coat the Christmas tree with the glittery Mod Podge. Let it dry. Add at least 3 coats.

Add ribbon

Thread a ribbon through the hole at the top of the tree. Tie the ribbon or ask an adult to use a hot glue gun to secure it.
