Make your own spooky haunted house using paper, crayons, and glue. This craft is perfect for Halloween and can be used as a decoration.

About This Project

A 15–20 minutes craft for ages 3–10, using supplies you likely already have — Sharpie Markers, Scissors, and Construction Paper.

    Make Haunted House Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
    "Are you as excited to make this as I am?"

    Step 1: Cut Out the Haunted House

    Print the haunted house template and cut it out. Trace it on a piece of black paper. Cut a line from the edge of the paper to the haunted house drawing. Then, cut around the haunted house. When you get to the other side, cut another line to the edge of the paper. Take a second piece of black paper and cut a wavy line to make a hill. The hill should be about the same height as the dot on the other side.

    Step 2: Add the Crayon Details

    1. Use the white crayon to draw windows, doors, and cobwebs on your haunted house. 2. Draw a gate, a lane, and tombstones on your hill. You can also draw some pumpkins.

    Step 3: Make some Halloween Features

    Trace a circle on yellow paper and cut it out to make a moon. Use the printable template to draw and cut out 2-3 bats from black paper. Fold 3 small pieces of orange paper in half. Cut a half circle, away from the fold. Glue the halves together to make a pumpkin. Give it a tiny green stem. You can draw a face on the pumpkin with the black marker.

    Step 4: Put Your Paper Haunted House Together

    1. Glue the moon, bats, and pumpkins where you want them. 2. Glue the edges of the hill to the front of the haunted house. Make sure the ends overlap and are secure with glue to make it into a stand. 3. Now your haunted house can stand up!

    Put things away so your space is tidy for next time.
