Make Milk Cap Clay Ornaments

Messy Mode

Make the clay with an adult

With an adult, mix - 1 Cup cornstarch - 2 Cups baking soda - 1 1/2 Cup cold water together in a pan. Put the pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Stir it all the time. It will get very thick and hard to stir. When it looks like clay, take it off the stove and let it cool. Store the clay in a closed container.

Have an adult make a hole in the milk cap

Ask an adult to carefully poke a hole in the side of the milk cap with the knife.

Add the wire

Cut a piece of wire. Thread it through the hole in the milk cap. If you want, add beads to the wire. Make two hooks at the end of the wire and connect them together.

Add the clay

Smash some clay into the lid. Design it however you like. You can use your thumbprints to make hearts. You can also press beads into the clay. Let the ornament dry.

Paint the ornament

If you want, use paint to decorate your ornament.
