Make beautiful, sparkling snowflakes with this fun winter craft! Print a snowflake template, add glue and salt, then paint on colors. This is a perfect winter arts and craft project for kids of all ages!
Steps
Print the Template
Download and print the free snowflake template onto your cardstock paper. This will make sure your snowflake stays strong. If you want, you can lightly draw over the snowflake lines with a pencil to make them easier to see.
Apply Glue
Use white glue to draw over the snowflake lines on the template. Squeeze glue along the lines. Use lots of glue, but don't make big puddles.
Sprinkle Salt
While the glue is still wet, sprinkle salt all over the snowflake. Make sure all the glue is covered. Gently shake off any extra salt onto a tray or plate.
Paint the Salt
After the salt is dry, use watercolor paints and a paintbrush to carefully add color to the salt. The salt will soak up the paint and make a pretty, bumpy look. Try different colors to see what you like best.
Let it Dry
Let the paint dry all the way. Then, carefully cut out the snowflake shape with scissors. Now you can use your snowflake to decorate for winter!
