    Make Paper Plate Football Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
    "Let's stick together and make this one!"

    Step 1: Cut your paper plate into a football shape.

    First, fold your paper plate in half. Then, ask a grown-up to help you cut a crescent shape from the folded plate. This will make your paper plate look like a football.

    Step 2: Punch holes for lacing.

    Keep your paper plate folded in half. Use the hole punch to make a line of holes close together in the middle of the folded plate. Then, punch one hole at each end of the folded plate. Ask a grown-up for help if the hole punch is tricky.

    Step 3: Paint your football brown.

    May need grown-up help
    Put some newspaper down to keep your table clean. Squeeze a little brown paint onto the newspaper. Use the large pompom to tap brown paint all over your football. Try to leave some white spots to make it look like a real football. Let the paint dry.

    Step 4: Add white stripes to your football.

    May need grown-up help
    Now, squeeze a little white paint onto the newspaper. Use the small pompom to make white stripes on both ends of your football. Let the paint dry.

    Step 5: Lace your football with white yarn.

    Cut about one yard of white yarn. Put a piece of tape around one end of the yarn to make it stiff, like a needle. Push the taped end of the yarn through one of the end holes on your football. Tape the yarn in place on the back. Now, lace the yarn up and down through the holes in the middle of the football, like shoelaces. When you are done, tape the end of the yarn on the back and cut off any extra yarn.

    Step 6: Write a message on your football.

    You can use a black marker to write a fun message on your football! Maybe your name or your favorite team's name!
