About This Project

A 20–40 minutes craft for ages 3–10, using supplies you likely already have — Pom Poms, Scissors, and Pencils.

GlueStick supports kids from setup to cleanup. After they choose a project, we guide them through gathering the supplies, making it, and cleaning up when they're done. We'll even help them share it safely with trusted family and friends.

Ad-free and kid-safe library — designed by a mom who wants kids to explore and create independently.

    Make Popsicle Stick Rooster Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
"I can't wait to make a project with you!"

Step 1: Build the popsicle stick triangle frame.

Use Elmer's glue to stick 3 large popsicle sticks together to make a triangle shape. Let the glue dry completely.

Step 2: Paint the triangle frame white.

    May need grown-up help
Put your triangle frame on newspaper to keep your work area clean. If you don't have a paintbrush, you can make one! Pinch a medium pompom with a clothespin to make a paintbrush. Squeeze a little white paint onto the newspaper. Paint the popsicle stick triangle white. Let the paint dry completely.

Step 3: Cut and glue a white paper triangle to the frame.

    May need grown-up help
Ask an adult to help you cut out the triangle shape from white construction paper using the printable template. Once the paint on your popsicle stick triangle is dry, use a glue stick to attach the white paper triangle to the back of the popsicle stick frame.

Step 4: Cut out rooster parts from the template.

Cut out all the different parts for your rooster, like the comb, wattle, and beak, from yellow and red construction paper scraps.

Step 5: Glue on rooster features and draw details.

Use your glue stick to attach the comb, wattle, and beak onto your rooster. Place the large googly eye where the rooster's eye should be. Finally, use your red and black markers to draw fun details like an eyebrow, a smile, or shadows to make your rooster special!
