About This Project

A 90–300 minutes craft for ages 5–10, using supplies you likely already have — Cinnamon, Pumpkin Pie Spice, and White Glue.

Step 1: Make the dough

Mix the craft glue, cinnamon, applesauce, and pumpkin pie spice together in a bowl to make the dough. Remember, this dough smells good, but it is not for eating!

Step 2: Roll out the dough

Use the rolling pin to roll out the dough. If the dough is sticky, sprinkle some extra cinnamon on the rolling pin and counter.

Step 3: Cut out shapes

Use the cookie cutters to make pumpkin and leaf shapes. If you want to hang them up, use the straw to poke a hole in the top of each ornament. Make sure the hole is big enough, because it will shrink a little when the ornaments are baked.

Step 4: Bake the ornaments

Ask an adult to help you bake the ornaments at 200 degrees F for 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Step 5: Paint the ornaments

Let the ornaments cool. Then, paint them with acrylic paint and glitter glue.

Step 6: Add ribbon

Once the ornaments are dry, put a piece of ribbon through the hole and tie it so you can hang up the ornament.
