About This Project

Make your own sparkling fireworks picture using watercolor paint and salt. First you draw fireworks with glue on black paper. Then you sprinkle salt on top like tiny crystals. When you touch the salt with watery paint, the colors spread out all by themselves—like magic fireworks in the night sky. When it dries, your fireworks look bumpy, bright, and shiny.

On the black paper, squeeze or trace glue lines in a fireworks shape: 1) Start with a small dot or circle in the middle. 2) Pull curved lines out from the center like a burst. Add a few smaller bursts around the page if you want.
