    Make Snowy Owl Craft

    Your creative buddy says:
    "Let's stick together and make this one!"

    Step 1: Paint the Owl

    1. Ask an adult to help you draw the head and body of the owl on the black paper with a pencil. Or, you can just paint the owl without drawing it first. 2. Pinch the medium pompom with the clothespin to make a paint brush. 3. Squeeze some white paint onto the paper plate. 4. Get some white paint on the pompom and dab it on the head and body of the owl. Do not fill the areas too much so that it looks like a fluffy baby owl. 5. Pinch the smaller pompom with the clothespin and squeeze a little gray paint onto the plate. 6. Add some gray details onto the owl, like dots on the body and some on the top of the head. 7. Let the paint dry.

    Step 2: Add Details

    1. Fold the white paper in half and cut a large raindrop shape for the owl’s wings. You can draw it with a pencil first if you want. 2. Add a little bit of gray paint to the wings. 3. Glue the googly eyes on the yellow paper and cut around them, leaving a little yellow around each eye. 4. Fold the scrap of black paper in half and cut a small beak. Ask an adult to help you with the scissors. 5. Glue the wings, beak, and eyes in place. 6. Add other details if you want. This is your project, so make it your own!

    Step 3: Make the Tree

    1. Fold the vertical edges of the brown paper back about 1/2 inch on each side. 2. Ask an adult to help you cut a circle or oval in the middle of the brown paper, big enough to see most of the snowy owl. It may be easier to fold your paper in half to cut the oval out. After you cut the oval, hold it in front of the painted owl and trim it if you need to. 3. Draw some detail onto the tree with your black marker. You can draw as much or as little as you want.

    Step 4: Attach the Tree Trunk

    1. Use the glue stick on the tabs that you folded back to attach the tree trunk to the black paper. Make a 3D arc so that your snowy owl is looking out the hole in the tree trunk. 2. Cut a couple of mini branches from the scraps of brown paper and add them to your picture with the glue stick.

    Step 5: Add Snow

    1. Pull a cotton ball apart to make it fluffy. 2. Put a little Elmer’s glue in the spots where you want to add snow. 3. Place the cotton on the glue.

    Put things away so your space is tidy for next time.
