    Make Soda Bottle Space Rocket

    Your creative buddy says:
"Are you as excited to make this as I am?"

Step 1: Cut the soda bottle

SHARP! Grown-up required May need grown-up help
Ask an adult to help you cut the bottom off the soda bottle. Then, cut a straight line to the top of the bottle and cut the neck of the soda bottle off. Be careful when using scissors or a utility knife!

Step 2: Tape the bottle to the lid

Fit the bottom of the soda bottle inside the laundry detergent lid. The sides of the soda bottle should overlap. Tape the soda bottle closed to make it fit.

    Step 3: Cover with paper

Remove the soda bottle and cover it with paper. Use tape to keep the paper in place.

Step 4: Glue the bottle to the lid

HOT! Grown-up required May need grown-up help
Ask an adult to put hot glue in the laundry detergent lid. Then, put the soda bottle back in the lid. The glue will hold the bottle and lid together. Ask an adult to hot glue the food pouch lid to the front of the rocket. Hot glue is very hot, so be careful!

    Step 5: Add fins

HOT! Grown-up required May need grown-up help
Cut out 4 triangles from the craft foam. Ask an adult to hot glue them to the sides of the rocket. These are the fins that help the rocket fly straight. Hot glue is very hot, so be careful!

    Step 6: Decorate

Decorate your rocket with paint, stickers, or anything else you like!
