About This Project
Did you know that artists have been painting "still lifes" (that's the fancy way to say pictures of non-moving objects) for thousands of years? Ancient Egyptians painted food and objects on tomb walls, hoping these paintings would become real in the afterlife! Still life paintings tell us lots about different times in history: - What food people ate - What objects they thought were special - What flowers grew in their gardens - What dishes and vases they used In this project, we'll study a few famous still life paintings, then create our own. You can use any art supplies you want, even photography! The key is to be a careful observer of the objects you choose and capture them as accurately as possible.
