About This Project

Create winter art by dabbing paint onto pictures with Q-tips. This activity helps you practice your fine motor skills, plus it's fun to paint with unexpected materials!

Print the pages

Ask an adult to help the winter Q-tip picture pages you'd like to make on card stock paper. Using cardstock will keep the paint from soaking through the paper. If you'd like to color part of your picture with crayons, markers, or colored pencils before painting the dots with the q-tips, have at it! It's your art. Get creative and have fun.

Paint with Q-tips

Dip a Q-tip into the paint. Then, dab the Q-tip in the circles on the picture. You don't need a lot of paint on the Q-tip. You might need to dip it in the paint many times to finish the picture.
