About This Project

Make a beautiful butterfly craft using a recycled milk jug and markers. These butterflies will look like they are glowing when you hang them in a window!

Make a butterfly stencil.

Fold a small piece of paper in half. Draw half a butterfly on it. Cut out the butterfly. You can make a few different sizes and shapes.

Trace and cut out butterflies.

Use the butterfly stencils to trace butterflies on the flat parts of the milk jug. Cut out the butterflies. Ask an adult for help cutting.

Decorate the butterflies.

Use the markers to color the butterflies. You can look at pictures of real butterflies to help you design your butterflies.

Hang up the butterflies.

Cut a piece of string. Tape the butterflies to the string. Hang up your butterflies and watch them glow in the sun!
